His most noteable tattoo is the sparrow on his right forearm. Other distinctive features: Jack's body is rather distinctive as he has dreadlocks and a goatee adorned with various beads and trinkets. Jack also wears four rings: A silver skull with emeralds, a silver and jade dragon, a gold and amethyst ring from Tia Dalma and finally and gold and onxy Spanish flower ring. Personality: Despite being a pirate and having more than a few bad habits, Jack is actually a decent man who lives by his own code. He might act cowardly but as mentioned before, Jack will risk his life for others and he would never seriously harm someone without just cause. Like they were trying to hurt him or prevent him from escaping. Jack is rather friendly, especially with the ladies and loves to have a good time. He'll talk to pretty much anyone and doesn't hold bias...unless the person works with the East India Trading company. Jack does get easily confused, distracted and seems to go through life by the seat of his pants. Brief History: Jack Sparrow's life began tumultuously as the pirate lord was born on the high seas in the midst of a hurricane. His adventures began at a young age when Jack ran away from his family and started sailing the seven seas. During his adolescence Jack gained employment with the East Indian Trading company was the captain of the Wicked Wench and there he met Cutler Beckett. He preformed many shipping jobs for Beckett but refused to transport slaves and ended up setting those slaves free. Beckett in response had Jack branded as a pirate and his vessel the Wicked Wench torched. Sparrow quickly embraced the life of a pirate and sought out Davy Jones in an attempt to get his ship back. Jones and Sparrow made a deal in which Jack would get his ship back for thirteen years before having to spend a century on The Flying Dutchman. Davy Jones gave Jack his ship back, which Jack renamed the Black Pearl and set out to make a name for himself. He had many more adventures and became a pirate lord, gaining dominion over the Caribbean seas before he gathered up a crew to go search for Cortes cursed Aztec gold. That crew ended up turning on Jack and leaving him on a deserted island with a pistol loaded with a single shot. Thankfully, it turned out that the island Jack was stranded on was also being used by rum-runners who gave Jack a way off. The pirate set out to regain his lost ship but it was a task that would take years. Eventually he ended up in Port Royal and encounter Elizabeth Swann, who he saved from drowning. For his troubles, Jack was arrested by Commodore James Norrington but Jack made a daring escape and ran into Will Turner at the blacksmiths. The pair fought and Jack was recaptured by James Norrington. That night the Black Pearl attacked Fort Charles where Jack was being kept. The pirate encountered some of his former crew who accidently revealed to Jack that they were cursed. While other pirates escaped the prison, Jack was trapped in his cell until the morning when Will Turner came and offered him a deal. The crew of the Black Pearl had captured Elizabeth Swann and Will wanted Jack's help to rescue her. The duo used a ruse to commandeer the Interceptor and escaped to Tortuga where they rounded up a crew and set sail for Isla de Muerta where Jack and Will secretly followed after the Black Pearl crew. While Jack tried to make Will follow his plan, the young blacksmith soon knocked him out and rescued Elizabeth on his own. When Jack awoke and found himself surrounded by his former, mutinous crew, he invoked Parlay and made a deal with Barbossa to get them the true Tunner heir, who's blood they needed to left their curse. When Jack tried to suggest negations with the Interceptor, Barbossa had him locked up while the Black Pearl attacked the Incerceptor. Soon after the battle, Jack and Elizabeth were forced to walk the plank together and ended up marooned on the same island Jack had been deserted on before. Once there, Jack admitted to Elizabeth how he really escaped the island and set about getting drunk. Thanks to Elizabeth's quick-thinking and a sacrifice of rum, the pair was rescued By Commandeer James Norrington. Soon they tracked down the Black Pearl and Jack went after Babossa just as Will was about to be killed. Jack stole one of the cursed coins and engaged Babossa in a swordfight while a battle raged between the crews of the Black Pearl, the Interceptor and the Dauntless. The curse was broken eventually but Jack had another run of bad luck as he was once again captured by James Norrington and sentenced to be hanged. Thanks to Elizabeth and Will, Jack managed to escape once more and regained his Black Pearl. Strengths: Despite assumptions made about Jack's appearance, he is intelligent, resourceful and quick-witted. Jack is a man who thinks on his feet and would rather talk his way out of trouble rather than fight. He is a skilled swordsman and has been known to use any weapon available to him. Acrobatic, agile and a fast runner, when Jack can't talk his way out of trouble his next action is to try and run. As such, he's fairly good out of getting out of sticky situations. Jack is also a charmer and manipulative which helps him distract his enemies. Weaknesses: He's human so Jack can be shot, burned, stabbed, eaten alive, etc, etc. Yet despite those natural downfalls, Jack has a slew of personal traits to add to his weaknesses. First and foremost, Jack's a coward. Sure, he'll risk his life for others like Will and Elizabeth but usually as a change of heart. Jack's first impulse is to run. This pirate also has a weak spot for ladies, rum, and his own mistress, the Black Pearl. Jack can pretty much be bribed/manipulated with any of these things. Thanks to his stumbling walk and seemingly intoxicated movements, many will write Jack off as being a bumbling fool and the worst pirate out there. Likes: Women, rum, beer, the ocean, freedom, traveling, tricornered hats, gold, treasure, jewelry... Dislikes: Davy Jones, being locked up, hangings, slavery, deserts, crabs, Barbossa, monkeys... Talents/Hobbies: Jack is a very skilled swordsman. Family: Edward Teague (Father), Mother (deceased) Friends: William 'Will' Turner Jr., William 'Bootstrap Bill' Turner Sr., Elizabeth Swann, Joshamee Gibbs, Tia Dalma... Character’s room #: Unit E 206 Outside Information Link: http://pirates.wikia.com/wiki/Jack_Sparrow Wanted Characters: Will Turner, Hector Babossa, Tia Dalma Role-play Sample: The sunrise broke across the horizon as Jack stood at the helm of his ship, his beloved Black Pearl. As the golden light touched the weather wood and swept over the blue waves, Jack couldn’t help but feel utterly content. This was freedom, pure and simple. Such contentment would not last for the pirate lord as a strange feeling overcame. Now Jack was no stranger to odd moods, being the odd man that he was and his notorious love of rum but this was different. A dizzy sensation crept over his mind, making the pirate’s stomach churn. Can’t be seasick he thought. I’m a bloody pirate! Pirate’s don’t get seasick!. Yet Jack’s stomach wasn’t listening and Jack soon found himself hung over the side of the boat, hurling the contents of his stomach over board. It was a bad time to be throwing up as a swell hit the boat causing it to jerk abruptly. Jack fell over the side and caught blur of blue-green waves coming at him. He barely had time to think but one thought went through that dreadlocked head as he braced himself. At least it’ll be a soft landing. Too bad for Jack this was the exact moment that he was pulled away from the Pearl and the Caribbean seas to be dumped on a foreign planet. The pirate hit the ground with a loud thud and had the wind knocked out him. “What in the name—“ Jack stopped as felt the grass beneath his hands and saw that he was on solid land. “Now what’s all this?” he murmured out loud in complete bewilderment. It certainly was not the Caribbean, nor was it his ship. It wasn’t like any place Jack had ever seen. For one thing, there was far too much land which immediately made Jack feel trapped. “But I can’t be on land, we’re not suppose to make port for another day….unless of course I made a mistake but then I’m only human, aye?” Jack glanced around once more, hoping to see someone, anyone from his crew. “Mister Gibbs? Cotton? Cotton’s parrot?” No one replied, not at first anyway. Jack decided that waiting around could be inviting trouble and rationed that he was better off seeking trouble before sought him. Besides, he still had to figure where in God’s name he had woken up to. So Jack set forth to a series of buildings he saw in the distance. He breezed by the smaller buildings, making his way to the largest one for surely there would be people there when something caught his eye. It was a man, or at least it looked like man but after Jack did a double-take he wasn’t entirely sure. The man dark brown face that after a second look made Jack realized he was caked in dirt. With a raised eyebrow and Jack’s regular swagger, he made his way over this stranger who was standing near a wall. “Ahoy there. I don’t suppose you’d be able to tell me where abouts I am, would you mate?” The man blinked at the pirate before pointing to a sign that Jack had been ignoring. He wasn’t much interested in signs unless they were wanted posters. Still, the dirt man didn’t seen keen on speaking so Jack turned his attention to the sign and began reading. “Welcome to Mirage, this is your new home,…every need will be fulfilled….can’t ever leave… wait, what was that last part? Can’t leave? Why can’t we leave? I need to get back to me ship”, Jack sputtered indignantly to the clay man. He didn’t answer Jack but instead offered the pirate a key. Jack glanced down at the key in his hand then to the golem’s face and then back at the key. “This better be for treasure”, he grumbled before taking the key in his own hand. It was rather shiny and new. When he glanced back up the clay man was already moving away, heading down one of the pathways. “What? Wait, where are you going? What’s this bloddy key for?” The golem halted and beckoned to Jack. “You want me to follow?” Jack said, stating the obvious. The pirate rested his hand on his sword. “Suppose I can’t see the harm in that but I warn you, I’m the most talent swordsman in the Caribbean”, Jack lied, “So if it’s treachery on your mind, you best be careful”. Still the golem gave no reply, leaving Jack with nothing to do but to follow the strange fellow. Jack was led to unit E and more specifically to room 206. The pair stopped at the door and the golem looked expectantly at Jack. “What?” the pirate snapped before remembering the key in his hand. “Oh, that’s right”. Jack slipped the key into the lock and opened the door to find himself looking at what seemed to be the inside of the of the captain’s courters of the Black Pearl. A somewhat modified version of the captain’s courters. Jack’s mouth fell open as he stepped inside. There was his bed off to one side, his long table, cabinets…almost exactly just as Jack remembered it. Except for the second door on the left side. Curious, Jack moved further into the room to open to door to find a bathroom. It was molded to match the appearance of the captain’s courters but had a modern toilet, sink, bathtub and shower. “What’s all this?” Jack murmured as he stepped forward and touched one silver faucet. It turned easily under his hand to let out a stream of water. Jack jumped back in surprise before darting in to shut it off. Aside from this room, Jack would have thought he was back on the Pearl but that was impossible since he had just walked into a building. Yes, but you also just fell out of a boat in the middle of the ocean and hit land Jackie boy. Seems like the impossible is more than possible here.
